The next litter will not be due until Nov. 2010 - Jan. 2011 Misty will be the mother. Have not decided on the father yet. Keep checking back to this site. Will update as soon as a father is decided and when Misty is due to have her next litter. How our Puppies are Raised Our puppies are born and raised in the house. At three days old they have their dew claws removed and are started on ENS(early neurological stimulation). This is done to help the pups become used to stress which will help them to adjust to their new homes better and become more adaptable to new situations as they get older. This will continue every day until they are 3 weeks old. They are also weighed every day until they are 3 weeks old, then once a week until they go home. The pups are cuddled a number of times each day. At 3 weeks old they are started on soft feed, given lots of fun toys to play with and started on paper training in an expanded enclosed area. They are exposed to lots of new noises, children, new people and sights At 4 weeks old the weaning process is started. The pups are on thick pasty food at this point. They are also given their first of 3 worm medications. Their nails are clipped every week. By 5 weeks, they are getting around very well. They are totally weaned, and on watered feed. They are introduced to a bird wing at this point. They are also introduced to a puppy crate and microchipped. At 6 weeks, they go to the vets for their check-up and first puppy shots. They are also introduced to retrieving at this point. If the weather permits, they are outside, exploring their surroundings as well as hearing all kinds of noises and discovering many new smells. At 7 weeks, they are ready for their new homes, being partially paper trained and used to a crate and happy to retrieve. Hopefully, this will help the transition to their new homes. All our puppies have a 28 month guarantee for hip dysplasia and genetic eye defects. |
